When used with the "Redirect category shell" (Rcat shell) template:

Template Redirect category shell may be used to add one or more rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation page below.

When used by itself:

 • From a cross-project redirect: This is a redirect from a title linked to an item on Wikidata. The Wikidata item linked to this page is Lua error in Module:Wd at line 632: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value). (Lua error in Module:Wd at line 632: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value).).

Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.
#REDIRECT (target article title)

Template Rcat shell is an alias for the Redirect category shell template, which may be used to add as many appropriate rcats as needed, usually from one to seven, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT (target article title)#(target list entry section/anchor)

R with Wikidata item
This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.
 • Use this rcat on all hard redirects in any namespace from titles that are used as connections to other Wikimedia projects. See the category for examples.

Parameter

This rcat takes one unnamed parameter, |1=(Wikidata item #), that may be used when a Wikidata "Q" number does not readily fill in, and you know that it exists on Wikidata. Examples follow:

#REDIRECT (target article title)

where the item number on Wikidata is Q21491525 – the "Q" prefix is optional:
#REDIRECT (target article title)

Error detection

This template automatically places redirects that are not linked to Wikidata items in the tracking category Category:Unlinked Wikidata redirects. Please fix these, either by removing TR with Wikidata item or by linking them to Wikidata (using the Lua error in Module:Wd at line 632: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value). (Q70894304) badge to avoid running into an error).

Printworthiness

 • In main-article namespace, many redirects with Wikidata items are considered printworthy; however, there are also many that are unprintworthy, so there is no default sort for printworthiness. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Some rcat templates automatically populate either Category:Printworthy redirects or Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default. Others, like this rcat template, do not, and that means it is up to editors to choose which of those categories, Printworthy or Unprintworthy, is appropriate and should be populated. The rcats that are used to populate those categories are:
Please click on each one for more details and guidance.
Examples:

Either Redirect category shell or its alias/shortcut, Rcat shell , may be used.
