Template documentation
Warning Warning: Do not use this template in articles; use {{Citation needed }} instead.

Purpose

This template can be used in talk pages to quickly ask an editor to back up their claims. It works basically the same way as {{Citation needed }}, but does not add the talk page to any categories.

The template can help focus long, complicated discussions in which claims without evidence are raised. It serves as a brief reminder that does not add significantly to the length and complexity of the discussion. Addition of such a citation will encourage verification of the claim.

Usage

Contraindications

This template should probably not be used in smaller discussions.

This template should not be added to others' comments, but rather posted after them:
